22-year-old Ugandan maid caught on video beating a toddler has been sentenced to four years in jail. Jolly Tumuhiirwe, pleaded guilty to the
crime of assault last week during her appearance before Chief Magistrate Lillian Bucyana.
Ms. Tumuhiirwe was captured on CCTV as she tortured 1/12 year old Arnella Kamanzi in her father’s home in Naalya suburb on Kampala in November.
The video uploaded by the baby’s father went viral and led to global outrage against the barbaric act of the housemaid by a Chief Magistrate court judge in Kampala.
