The Nigerian movie industry called Nollywood, has been thrown into mourning yet again as another veteran actress, Margaret Umanah, died few
days ago in a ghastly motor accident along the Lagos-Benin Expressway.
Margaret, who was one of the biggest actresses in the South-East, was based in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom State, and was a very popular and active member in the industry and would be remembered for her roles in some Ibibio indigenous movies like ‘Eka Abasi’, a blockbuster epic local movie.
According to foremost movie producer and director in the state, Moses Eskor, a condolence meeting will be held in her honour tomorrow, Friday, 16 May, 2014.
Margaret Umanah’s death brings to five, the number of movie practitioners who have died since the beginning of this year.
