According to the social media user who shared the photo, the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II is allegedly a Mason who publicly identifies with the ‘oldest fraternity in the world’, the Freemasons.
The 63 year old monarch is pictured below with his ‘brothers’ dressed in the supposed full regalia of the Masons.
Its paramount that we should all respect the understanding of FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION. The fact that you find an organization incomprehensible does not mean is a taboo club. The Oba made his choice, and we should see it as a decission that he must have really thought over. But then, before we judge any organization, we should endeavour to be thorough with our research. Freemasonry is not an evangelical organization, and membership is of free will.
