A few weeks ago, ‘Woju’ singer Kiss Daniel, trended on social media for all the wrong reasons after fans “uncovered” that the he had been lying about his real age.
Daniel who claims to be 21-years-old right now – granted an interview where he claimed he graduated with a 4.32GPA in ‘Water Engineering’ from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2013.
Which means his age at the time of graduation was 18 – and he got admitted into the Federal University at the age of 13.
Eagle-eyed fans also revealed that the minimum age set by the examination body for students eligible to write JAMB is 16. They also stated that Engineering is a 5-year course.
Which makes it absolutely impossible for him to be 21. So the big question was – is the singer lying about his age or is he lying about being a graduate?
During an appearance on ‘Rubbin’ Minds’ with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu yesterday, Sunday, April 17 – the fast rising star spoke on the controversy surrounding his age, his new album, his journey and more.
When asked by Obi-Uchendu to state his real age, Daniel made it clear that his age was his business and his business alone.
He said, “About the age stuff, my team we are putting out a press release on that. For now, I would love not to say anything. Because, its more than how old I am now.”
Ebuka pressed on trying to squeeze a proper answer from him, but the singer simply added: “Because music is my business…its my business.”
