My problem is that it seems many of us have deliberately deleted Old Testament, which is even more important in our bible. There’s no where it’s compulsory in the Old Testament that a man should marry just one woman. The concept of one husband, one wife is an European concept that found its way to bible because of the huge part of the New Testament was compiled in Europe. The reality now is that it’s mathematically impossible for all women to get married if all men refused to marry more than a wife. The reason being that men and women, although usually born same time, but don’t usually get married at the same time. And for a woman , time is of essence, whereas time doesn’t run against men. Therefore men see no reason to hurry marriage. It’s only smart, contented and lucky women that are probably going to be married. It doesn’t take a genius to comprehend.
