Ronke Bewaji Shonde was found dead yesterday morning at their home at Tiemo Crescent off Awori street in Egbeda, Lagos, and her husband, Lekan Shonde, is missing.
He is believed to have beaten her death during a domestic dispute.
A family friend who reported the case said, Ronke and Lekan had a fight in the early hours of yesterday, while their kids were sleeping.
One neighbor later said he heard noise coming from their flat early in the morning but didn’t think it was something serious.
Around 7am, the couple’s nanny came to the house to resume work only to find the house locked and no one was opening the door.
She tried to call Ronke but her phone was switched off. She peeped through the window only to find the couple’s 6 and 4 year old kids crying and saying they couldn’t wake their mum up.
Neighbors gathered and forcefully opened the door to find Ronke’s lifeless body on the floor with blood gushing from her head. Lekan was nowhere to be found. Ronke’s phone was also missing. He’d locked the kids with their dead mum in the house and taken off with her phone.
Her body has since been deposited at the mortuary. She was in her mid-30s. According to family friends, Ronke suffered domestic violence in her husband’s hands for many years but refused to leave the marriage.

If they die by that, d man will definitely go ahead and marry another woman and the other woman they are so scared of, might end up maltreating d children they thought they are fighting for. Weather they are alive or not, the children will definitely survive and live their live even Better than dey would av been if their mother were alive…..the highest they will do if they like is to do their mother’s remembrance….. There is No two side to this story.A woman is dead, someone mother, someone sister, someone daughter and someone friend and people are writing the woman must have pushed the man or he didn,t mean to kill her….REALLY! the woman. @ Frank i understand your point. Im also in a sort of marriage like this and my ex was just a living hell woman. After two fights,i left my house and i never came back just to avoid news like this where people now judge u without conscience. Something bad might have happened if i didnt. Some women out there are the husbands in their homes, and they can really make your life a living hell. Im happy mine didnt end this way and im hoping God will recieve the soul of the departed. Its really sad seeing marital issues leading to death. A simple fight btw husband and wife can result to accident that causes death. He shldnt have ran away….God help him

If u have kids pls leave the house for her,if you dont have kids yet,find legal or family way to excuse her from your house . if you both own the house pls guys,move out.
