The most talked about event this week is a three-minute video of a bank robbery in Owerri, the Imo state capital after it was shared online. See the Owerri bank robbery video here.
Many folks online have been asking about the welfare of The hero in the video—thepoliceman who gunned down one of the robbers.
It is sad to report to you that the brave officer who engaged the robbers died in April.. He has been identified as Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko.
The spokesperson for the Imo State police command, Andrew Enwerem revealed to PUNCH that the brave sergeant died while he was in intensive care in April, that is two months after he engaged the robbers in a gun battle in February.
Andrew revealed that two other policemen were also present in the security post during the shootout and they sustained gunshot injuries.
“They were in intensive care for up to two months. The two survived but Iboko died. He was a sergeant and mobile policeman,” Enwerem said.

The bravado shown by that Policeman who died in the line of serving his fatherland and being patriotic is commendable and exceptional and an act that should be emulated by other security operatives within the country. Even though is the right thing to do, Nigeria is not worth dying for as we can see from the case of Sgt. Iboko who laid his life on the line to serve the country yet he couldn’t get access to proper medical care how are the mighty fallen, which is why many other Policemen fear for their lives because they will be forgotten in a hurry and no one will tend and fend for their families. Only God can save this country and only God will judge the so called “cabal of Saboteurs” and only God can tell what is happening to the IBOKOS the heroic family by now

our president has flown to European countries God knows how many times this year but a gallant policeman could not be flown abroad for treatment he sustained fighting crime, but left to die in Nigeria after two solid months…..SAD
