The last time I saw the picture of the ooni was about three weeks ago on net. he was with his 4 wives in london. there was no any abobaku with him o. that means the so called abobaku didnt go with him to london and he didnt enjoy benefit so much as the ooni. it is now that d king died that they remember that there is one abobaku. abobaku ko, abobaku ni. they should go and bury his wives with him. afterall, they all enjoyed with him when he was alive. eyele ki ba onile je, ko ba onile mu, ko wa yeri lojo iku.

This is just a propaganda! Abobaku is not a title in the authentic Yoruba culture. The use the word “Abobaku” for the servant that is closest to the King. As in being with the king all of the time, going with the king wherever he goes…..so they believe that whatever happens to the king happens to him, not that when the king dies they will kill him too. Abobaku is used as the word Abokoku – The closest wife to the husband.
