The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday said the performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government in the past six months was more than enough for the electorate to turn against it as a political party that has failed in office.
The party also reminded President Muhammadu Buhari that Nigerians expect nothing short of transparent elections in the forthcoming governorship polls in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a statement said APC, in its desperation to rig the Kogi and Bayelsa State governorship, had failed to realize that the people were no longer excited about the fake change it offered that made it win the 2015 general elections.
“The scandalous resort by the APC to use security forces to frighten and intimidate voters and electoral officers to sway votes in its favour, in addition to other ploys made to set the stage for violence in the process, clearly collaborate the fact that it has already lost its support base in the country and particularly in the north,” the statement added.
PDP insisted that the APC manipulated last Saturday’s Borno Central senatorial bye-election.
