Lol … We CHRISTIANS believe in Trinity this means they are 3 persons in one God… God The father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit … You and I live in a three-dimensional world. All physical objects have a certain height, width, and depth. One person can look like someone else, or behave like someone else, or even sound like someone else. But a person cannot actually be the same as another person. They are distinct individuals.
God, however, lives without the limitations of a three-dimensional universe. He is spirit. And he is infinitely more complex than we are.
That is why Jesus the Son can be different from the Father. And, yet the same.
The Bible clearly speaks of: God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. But emphasizes that there is only ONE God.
If we were to use math, it would not be, 1+1+1=3. It would be 1x1x1=1. God is a triune God.
Thus the term: “Tri” meaning three, and “Unity” meaning one, Tri+Unity = Trinity. It is a way of acknowledging what the Bible reveals to us about God, that God is yet three “Persons” who have the same essence of deity. Some have tried to give human illustrations for the Trinity, such as H2O being water, ice and steam (all different forms, but all are H2O). Another illustration is an egg having a shell, egg yolk and egg white, but this egg illustration shows that there would be “parts” to God, which isn’t the case.
God the Son (Jesus) is fully, completely God. God the Father is fully, completely God. And God the Holy Spirit is fully, completely God. Yet there is only one God. In our world, with our limited human experience, it’s tough to understand the Trinity. But from the beginning we see God this way in Scripture. Notice the plural pronouns “us” and “our” in Genesis 1:26 — Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Though not a complete list, here is some other Scripture that shows God is one, in Trinity:
“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!” (Deut. 6:4)
“I am the LORD, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God.” (Isa. 45:5)
There is no God but one. (1Cor. 8:4)

Carrying this concept over to the Trinity, it is not a contradiction for God to be both three and one because He is not three and one in the same way. He is three in a different way than He is one. Thus, we are not speaking with a forked tongue — we are not saying that God is one and then denying that He is one by saying that He is three. This is very important: God is one and three at the same time, but not in the same way.
How is God one? He is one in essence. How is God three? He is three in Person. Essence and person are not the same thing. God is one in a certain way (essence) and three in a different way (person). Since God is one in a different way than He is three, the Trinity is not a contradiction. There would only be a contradiction if we said that God is three in the same way that He is one.
So a closer look at the fact that God is one in essence but three in person has helped to show why the Trinity is not a contradiction. But how does it show us why there is only one God instead of three? It is very simple: All three Persons are one God because, as we saw above, they are all the same essence. Essence means the same thing as “being.” Thus, since God is only one essence, He is only one being, not three. This should make it clear why it is so important to understand that all three Persons are the same essence. For if we deny this, we have denied God’s unity and affirmed that there is more than one being of God (i.e., that there is more than one God).
What we have seen so far provides a good basic understanding of the Trinity. But it is possible to go deeper. If we can understand more precisely what is meant by essence and person, how these two terms differ, and how they relate, we will then have a more complete understanding of the Trinity.
Essence and Person
Essence. What does essence mean? As I said earlier, it means the same thing as being. God’s essence is His being. To be even more precise, essence is what you are. At the risk of sounding too physical, essence can be understood as the “stuff” that you “consist of.” Of course we are speaking by analogy here, for we cannot understand this in a physical way about God. “God is spirit” (John 4:24). Further, we clearly should not think of God as “consisting of” anything other than divinity. The “substance” of God is God, not a bunch of “ingredients” that taken together yield deity.
Person. In regards to the Trinity, we use the term “Person” differently than we generally use it in everyday life. Therefore it is often difficult to have a concrete definition of Person as we use it in regards to the Trinity. What we do not mean by Person is an “independent individual” in the sense that both I and another human are separate, independent individuals who can exist apart from one another.
What we do mean by Person is something that regards himself as “I” and others as –You.” So the Father, for example, is a different Person from the Son because He regards the Son as a “You,” even though He regards Himself as “I.” Thus, in regards to the Trinity, we can say that “Person” means a distinct subject which regards Himself as an “I” and the other two as a “You.” These distinct subjects are not a division within the being of God, but “a form of personal existence other than a difference in being.”
How do they relate? The relationship between essence and Person, then, is as follows. Within God’s one, undivided being is an “unfolding” into three personal distinctions. These personal distinctions are modes of existence within the divine being, but are not divisions of the divine being. They are personal forms of existence other than a difference in being. The late theologian Herman Bavinck has stated something very helpful at this point: “The persons are modes of existence within the being; accordingly, the Persons differ among themselves as the one mode of existence differs from the other, and — using a common illustration — as the open palm differs from a closed fist.”
Because each of these “forms of existence” are relational (and thus are Persons), they are each a distinct center of consciousness, with each center of consciousness regarding Himself as “I” and the others as “You.” Nonetheless, these three Persons all “consist of” the same “stuff” (that is, the same “what,” or essence). As theologian and apologist Norman Geisler has explained it, while essence is what you are, person is who you are. So God is one “what” but three “who’s.”
The divine essence is thus not something that exists “above” or “separate from” the three Persons, but the divine essence is the being of the three Persons. Neither should we think of the Persons as being defined by attributes added on to the being of God. Wayne Grudem explains:
But if each person is fully God and has all of God’s being, then we also should not think that the personal distinctions are any kind of additional attributes added on to the being of God. . . . Rather, each person of the Trinity has all of the attributes of God, and no one Person has any attributes that are not possessed by the others. On the other hand, we must say that the Persons are real, that they are not just different ways of looking at the one being of God . . . the only way it seems possible to do this is to say that the distinction between the persons is not a difference of ‘being’ but a difference of ‘relationships.’ This is something far removed from our human experience, where every different human ‘person’ is a different being as well. Somehow God’s being is so much greater than ours that within his one undivided being there can be an unfolding into interpersonal relationships, so that there can be three distinct persons.
When we say there’s a divine Trinity, one God in three Persons, some people say, “Well, that’s contradictory to logic. That sounds like you’re worshipping three Gods.” No. There are a lot of things we don’t understand about the one true God.

Can you think of anything else that never had a beginning?
Can you think of a God that is everywhere at the same time?
If you think about it, those things are absolutely contradictory to logic, and yet they are true. God never had a beginning, and God is everywhere. That’s not logical, but it’s certainly true…

What we see are reflections of the Trinity, but not illustrations of the Trinity, in so much that God has created…
Time is past, present, and future. That’s a trinity. The past is not the present; the present is not the future; and the future is not the past. All three are distinguishable, all three are inseparable, and you can’t have one without the other.
Space involves height, width, and depth. Height is not width; width is not depth; depth is not height. All are distinguishable, but all are inseparable. They all exist together. You can’t have one without the other.
Man. Man is body, soul, and spirit. Yet you’re one person.
The next couple of verses are addressing the question “” Is it one God who only “appears” in three different roles””, like a man, who can be husband to his wife, father to his children and boss to his employees, or are these three really distinct persons?
If Father, Son and Spirit were the same person, then all the talk of Jesus about the Father and the Spirit would be strange.
Jesus talks about his love of the Father, about his obedience towards the Father, about the Father’s love of the Son, … He says in John 16:25-28
“I will tell you plainly about my Father, …, I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. No the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”
Jesus makes the clear distinction between the Father and himself. “The Father Himself” loves you… This kind of language would be nonsense if Jesus is the Father. Jesus is always with himself, he can not “leave himself” to come into the world and “go back to himself” by leaving the world. No, the Son is not the Father and the Father is not the Son. And shortly before this, Jesus says about the Spirit “I will ask the Father, and he will give you ANOTHER Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of Truth.” John 14:16.
So, the distinctness of Father, Son and Holy Spirit is very clear in Jesus word’s.
Let me give you one more category of scripture passages which confirms that God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equals, but not equal. And that should finally establish, that the real Trinitarian doctrine is the only one that brings together the Deity of all persons, the distinctiveness of the persons, but still maintaining that God is only one God.
Recently I posed the question:
“Would a Muslim be shocked about Allah (pbuh = peace be upon him)
or Muhammad (swt = glory be to him)?”
and got the expected answer:
“The former would seem odd, since Allah SWT is the source of peace, and the latter would be blasphemous.”
And the Jewish and Christian understanding is exactly the same. No mere prophet, not even the greatest prophet before Jesus, Moses, ever got glory ascribed to him, or it is unheard of people blessing others by invoking the “peace of Moses” on them. Moses had just as much need for God’s peace as every other human being. He has no peace of his own to dispense no others.
In the light of this, look at the follwing statements by Jesus and about Jesus.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
John 16:33
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
And as quoted already earlier, John 1:17
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Jesus himself says in John 14:6
I am the way, the truth, and the life.
He is not just pointing to the way, or the truth that is to be found in God only, no, Jesus IS the personification of truth, grace, peace, life, i.e. the personification of attributes ultimately only God posesses. He is the personification of God in the flesh. Ephesians 2 states
12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,

NOW LETS TRY AND UNDERSTAND YOU ALANOUD AS A PERSON…. Your Body (or the realm of the material) Mind (or the realm of the soul) Spirit (the realm of the higher self and universal consciousness) you as Alanoud you are the only essence who has access to these three persons and thats what makes you exactly who u are how then do you hope to fully comprehend something whose essence exists as a spirit???
