“I Don’t Believe In Gender Equality, A Man Should Be A Step Ahead” – Nollywood Actress Foluke Daramola

foluke-4-1

Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola recently shared her take on Gender equality in a quick chat with TS Weekender. When asked to share her view on Gender Equality Bill, the actress said:

“I’m sorry I don’t think men and women should have equal rights in this case. I think the male should have more than the female, but it should be with proportion, maybe on a ration of 60 to 40.
The reason why I think so is because we women tend to be extremely domineering when it comes to issues and sometimes sentimental. Men can be detailed even though we are sometimes. So, there are proportions in all these things.

The role of a man can never be over emphasized. Even though I’m a woman rights activist, I still believe in the place of a woman and a man. The man is suppose to be a step ahead of the woman; you can never take that away.”

Do you agree with her?

  1. OMG. Am I the only one here who thinks some people are going crazy. What do you understand by gender equality. Gender equality has no business with a woman been submissive. or a man been the head of the household. Damn. Gender equality means when both men and women have equal rights and one gender is not been discriminated against based on their gender. Where the hell did the bible enter this discussion. NO WONDER NIGERIA is still very backwards. They ask question A and then we give answer to Z and use biblical quote to cover up our ignorance

  2. Really, so let me ask you. If you wife was working in a bank (and she is the most qualified), but they pass her up for promotion and give the promotion to a man because he is a man. That would sit well with you. RIGHT? Please google gender equality before making any uneducated comment.

  3. The mere fact that she is a STAR does not mean she is educated. Please read what gender equality means before making such uneducated comments.

  4. We no the man is the head of the house, but gender equality does not mean  what you think. IT means been allowed the same rights and opportunity that men enjoy and not been discriminated because I am a woman

  5. She ought to be ashamed of herself. How do you  say you are a woman right activist and you dont know what gender equality means. So a man should be allowed to enjoy all the opportunities of life even though I am more qualified than he is . I should suffer at the workplace, etc for been a woman. Do me a favor, if you have any female child or children dont send them to school because it is a waste.

  6. What are we talking about here. Gender equality is not given a woman the right to take over the home. it is affording the rights to enjoy equal opportunities that men enjoy and not discriminate against her because she is a woman.

  7. Please google what gender equality means before you disapprove of people’s comment.

  8. How the hell do I finish going to school, receiving all those stupid floggings from school and I am passed up for a promotion at the office because I am a woman. Why.? Nigeria, Forward NEVER Backward EVER.Please, do those of you using the bible as your back up and weapon please kindy educate yourself on what gender equality means. http://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/gender-equality/.

  9. Really.? WOW!!!!!!! And that is why Nigeria can never move forward. You speak so well but say so little. Please what does GENDER EQUALITY MEAN?

  10. OMG I finally found someone that knows what they are talking about. Everyone seems to be making baseless and stupid arguments focusing on issues that has not business with gender equality.

  11. Madam you are right God bless you.

This is why many domineering husbands are abusive of this standard. Her looks doesn’t even seem to submit to a husband. A woman in the Book of Genesis is a helpmate and not to be dominated. Isn’t it that the Lord gave the same good treatment to both sexes in a marriage? Ephesians 5:22-23 “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. … 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for …: Christ should be the center of each relationship, which some don’t understand because they don’t know the Word. There should always be one in the relationship………
