The source also disclosed that the former military leader has been ill for a while, resulting in his inability to attend most public functions.

Though the real cause of his illness could not be ascertained, the source apart from saying that it was age-related, added that he might be suffering from a relapse of the radiculopathy disease which has troubled the former Nigerian leader since he was head of state.

Just like we all expected, the son of the former head of state, Muhammed Babangida, has finally confirmed the illness of his father.

Speaking about his father’s ill health to Encomium.ng. He noted that Babangida is still recovering after a corrective surgery recently as a result of radiculopathy disease.

He dispelled fears over the current health status of his father and said: “It’s nothing new that IBB has radiculopathy, everybody knows that. But he has just gone through a corrective surgery and he’s recuperating at the moment. And if you will reason with me, being an old man it will take some time for the surgery to heal.

“Even, he’s supposed to be at home resting. But he had to attend the valedictory service for the former Chief Judge of Niger state because of his relationship with him. That’s the reason he stepped out few days ago.

If he can return the looted money and confesses, God may heal him. There is no need for him to die without refunding all those looted money. His death will not help our country. He he refunds, all the good people in heaven will return his health back to him.
