Police have recovered the bodies of a young couple after they were found hanging from a tree at Madarganj upazila in Jamalpur.
The bodies of Sujan Mia, 25, and Joya Akhtar, 22, were recovered from Nalachhiya village under the upazila on Wednesday. Madarganj police OC Rafiqul Islam said locals called police after the bodies were found.
When the families of the duo did not show up at the police station, police filed an unnatural death case and sent the bodies to Jamalpur General Hospital for autopsies. Police suspect the couple committed suicide after their families refused to accept their marriage.
