The 75 year old Spanish priest who was infected with the Ebola virus in Liberia is being treated with the new experimental drug, Zmapp, which was
used to treat two US missionary doctors infected with the virus. The Spanish government claimed yesterday that the drug was imported from Geneva and doctors have begun to administer it on Fr. Miguel Pajares at Madrid’s La Paz-Carlos III hospital where he is in isolation.
The first person to be treated with the serum, Dr. Kent Brantly, saw his condition improve after being given Zmapp.
Since his treatment began, Fr. Pajares is said to be in stable condition, no longer has fever, and hasn’t any hemorrhaging. Doctors believe that his condition will greatly improve in the coming days.
So when is Africa going to get this drug? Instead They have left we Africans to die! Meanwhile as the fear of the spread of Ebola sweeps across Nigeria, Catholic churches in Lagos have suspended the ‘sign of peace’ where the congregation shake hands during mass. While some Anglican churches have suspended handshakes during communion.
The Archbishop of Lagos Adewale Martins released a statement yesterday saying that while the handshakes have been suspended, Catholic priests should continue the traditional hand to mouth method of given Holy Communion for now, but asked the priest to make sure their hands don’t touch the tongues of the recipient. He also said Holy Water bowls usually placed at the entrance of churches should be discontinued to contain the spread of the virus.
In the same vain, the Primate of the Church Of Nigeria Anglican Communion the Most Reverend Nicholas Okoh today suspended shaking of hands during the exchange of the peace. He also suspended the age long mouth method of administering communion. He said this is aimed at preventing the spread of the disease through physical contact… Guys You Recall President Goodluck Requested for this Serum But Obama said its too early to send it to Africa, Well is it not still too early to send it to Spain either? This is a big lesson for Africa! “There’s been no known cure/vaccine for Ebola…” and stuffs like that have been the chants everywhere these past months of Ebola outbreak, but immediately a US citizen contracted it, ‘experimental drug’ emerged! Now, one wonders, why didn’t America, if truly they’re being honest, take the so-called experimental drug to those affected African countries these past months to carry out their experiment fully? Why must they wait for US citizens to contract it before bringing out the drug? And up till now they’ve not considered it necessary to continue d experiment on those dying Africans? With this development, one would not be wrong to say that this Ebola virus is an invention of the whites(America) to reduce the population of Africa as well as a strategy to drive home the point that they’re are indeed the world power.
