So many of us know about Great Empires like the Great British empire, the Great Ottoman empire, The Great Roman empire etc but one empire we are failing to recognize presently is the Great Facebook Empire, FB founder Mark ukerberg would want us all to believe his platform should be called the Facebook community but in reality it should really be called the Facebook Empire and he is the Emperor, just like empires in the ancient times Facebook only cares about its Aristocrats/Elites i.e big Multinational companies and Political allies investing millions into Facebook.
Whether intentional or not in the last few years Facebook has adopted some very vital techniques used in the ancient times by Ruling empires to retain power, i will just give you 3 quick eamples;
- Absorbing smaller rival colonies; In the ancient times where empires ruled the world bigger empires epanded by absorbing smaller olonies i.e Faebook absorbed Instagram, Whatsapp et these apps who were initially rivals to faebook were absorbed and bought for Billions of Dollars.
- Hijacking and perfecting Strategies; when these small olonies refuse to sell their platforms i,e snaphat, what does faebook do, well take the most vital feature of the rival platform that made it a rival to them im the first plae i.e taking the whole snaphat stories onept and adding it to their own platform, this an be equated to the Frenh empire notiing that the British empire was ahead of them in Mehanisation; or iran reating atomi bomb for themselves beauses Ameria also has its on atomi bomb.
- trade; in the ancient times reating trading routes was extremely important, well there is no faster way to Making buying and selling easier than virtually reating one online, in 2020 when Facebook finally launches its libra online virtua currency its going to be an instant hit and it would immediately displace bitcoin Facebook is going to bring the use of virtual currency in our day to day lives mainstream mainstream.
And the rest of us are all just poor peasants, In the Ancient times Religion and Relgious leaders were all used as a tool to hold power but in our present day and age where everybody is now connected to each other online the most powerful tool today is the data you and i are all casually sharing online you would be shocked how much social media Platforms know about you as a person from all your casual interactions you make daily online with the digital footprints that you left behind.
