Nigerian Billionaire Kidnapper Evans Reacts To The Fact That He Faces Death Penalty, As Ambode Signs Bill Into Law

The Lagos Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has signed into law Life Imprisonment ordeath penalty for the offence of Kidnap and forceful extortion in Lagos State as he signs into law the state kidnapping prohibition bill, 2016.

The law provides for death penalty for kidnappers whose victims die in their custody, and life imprisonment for the act of kidnapping.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Lagos State House of Assembly passed the bill on January 5.

The governor said that the law was enacted to address key issues bordering on security.

He said that kidnapping had become a major threat to the safety of residents and, therefore, required decisive action by the government.

“This law imposes a penalty of life imprisonment for kidnapping for ransom.

“The law stipulates that, where a victim dies in the course of kidnapping, the suspect is liable on conviction to death.

“Security is of utmost importance to our administration, and we are confident that this law will serve as a deterrent to anybody, who may desire to engage in this wicked act within the boundaries of Lagos State.

“Our justice system will be required to execute this law in absolute and make sure that any criminal caught faces the full wrath of the law,” he said.

Based on this, it is very likely, George Evans gets a life imprisonment or death penalty sentence.

Yesterday Evans was asked on his future and he had this to say:

“I lived a simple life although I had money. My neighbors thought that I was a businessman. On the day I was arrested, I had this strange feeling.

So I decided to stay indoors. I regret all my actions. As you can see I am reading my Bible, particularly the book of Lamentation. I don’t know what faith holds in stock for me with Lagos State’s laws on kidnapping.”

  9. I dont think Evans deserves death. Pls as individuals just check in your mind some of the terrible things some of us are doing that is killing others indirectly before thinking of firing squad for Evan. I am not in support of criminals but Evans deserves a second chance. Remember he was an expert in the field meaning he was very intelligent meaning if he had gone to school he could have excel. But i know those who are behind the death of Evans are those highly corrupt rich and selfish barons who think only of themselves. Evans u did a good job by reducing their ill and corrupt gotten wealth. Evans be courageous i am praying for you. God is in control. I admire people who engaged in something and do it very well. You deserves our respect. Evans should not be killed. Love you Evans.

  20. People like this should not be released into the community …. he is only saying all this just to get peoples sympathy…… if he is pardon he will harm people the more….. it is only does he has ruined can explain it….. may God not let us be victims of this crimals in the society!

  21. GOD FIRST IN EVERYTHING WE DO… DEATH SENTENCE WON’T BE SUCCESSFUL REACTION TO HIS DEMERITED ACTIONS BUT TO CAUSE MORE HARM TO MORE SOULS..THIS SUSPECT IN PARTICULAR HAPPENS TO BE A RELATIVE OF ANY…. CONSCIENCE IN EVERYTHING WE DO BECAUSE NOBODY IS PERFECT

  22. Mr Masses done suffer

Brave men of Nigeria….those who steal public fund and loot our country deserve death cos they are the cause of all this evil and atrocities in the country…..EFCC should also prob those that paid Millions of Dollars and pounds to get freedom from Evan militants Group..Evans should be alive.

  23. Brave men of Nigeria….those who steal public fund and loot our country deserve death cos they are the cause of all this evil and atrocities in the country…..EFCC should also prob those that paid Millions of Dollars and pounds to get freedom from Evan militants Group..Evans should be alive.

  24. thats why I said Biafra can not stand, igbo so much hate themselves.

    • Evan can not repent God himself have given him so many chance. From his days of drug trafficking, arm robber to kidnapping, pls for year God sheilded him from police, psalm 23 work for him now it’s time for him to dwell in the house of??? Let him face justice

  25. He deserve die, but in second way he does not, but Lagos State Govnor don already since Death Penalty for him, so I don’t think anything u can say here DAT can make it change…

  26. God has the final say…. I think he should be free… He need forgiveness

  27. This man is far better than Nigeria policemen.

  28. I don’t understand people sometimes. Tamper justice with mercy. He shouldn’t be killed buh punished. He’s regrettably sorry. Did he ever tamper ransome with mercy? D people dt he shot during captivity or d ones dt died while in his captive, what d Fuck was he punishing them for? He damn man doesn’t even know what regret or sorry is else he would even go into drug trafficking or robbery or kidnapping. Do u know how many families he has brought pain and anguish to? How many families he has made penniless? How many wives he has made widows? Husbands widowers? Dt God forsaken man should be killed slowly. A ear cut today. A toe cut tomorrow. Step by step. One day at a time.
He’s got enough chances to stop this stupid and devilish act Buh he never did thinking God is as foolish as he is cuz he kept eluding the authorities Buh God as d God that He is was just waiting for d right time to cast him.
So If u come here with your holier than thou heart n start saying things wanting people to think u have a forgiving heart by being heartless for saying this guy should be giving a second chance, then y’all are the bad people n should be arrested n prosecuted as well…mtcheew

    • What a comment to stumble on. Don’t mind those bunch of fools who seems to be holier in typing but rather the deadliest being. A kidnapper who doesn’t fear God, abducting people, had shot them, were captivated, he demands a robust ransome of a whole hell of money without fear, upon how he has made riches he never try settling on that to quit but he felt the sweetest of wealth, God will never vindicate that baddest kidnapper, he’s done more than enough, and he needs to be penalised hugely from his act. They will then drop awful and horribe comment stating the government embezzled but what did they do for them, fools, I and you are the biggest idiot in the world and that is why we will never get what we want until we stand on one voice, face our fear and let the government realise enough is enough of the tyranny government, we’ve been enslaved, we’ve suffered, we’ve been defeated, we’ve been suffering to eat, we’ve been suffering to get education, we’ve never had light, we’ve been placed in the dark, we’ve been turned to each other by our government, if we can’t stand to speak our mind for the betterment of that country we will continue to be enslaved by our own people, take a look at the diversion in the nation today, ethnic problems, religion adversities, tribalism. The lad called evans had done the most horrible thing, can’t you just imagine those ammunition and put yourself in the position of ever being witnessed with this actions and feel if you were one of the captives what you could have ever also went through. Am not a judge and it that lad is eliminated he deserves to pay for his horror actions

  29. ‘Let Him Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone’

  30. ‘Let Him Who Is Without Sin Cast the First Stone’

    • God bless u zuma, infact the one who has neve sin before should cast the first stone, no one has never sin before I know that, what about the ones who killed with pen, do u know that that is the worst of it all we all are jst looking @ it with a simple eye, but with jst an ordinary pen thousand innocent people are dead, fine he has sin against God but we should leave him for God to judge cause no sinner will ever go unpunished. Only God can judge right. But killing him is not right let him face and work hard to serve the nation, I believe killing him is not the best, cause there are lot out there who does more than this but we never knew them till date.

  31. Hey!
Lagos state got r talking abt life imprisonment. Or death which ever one.
But I’m not in support of kills dis man.
But considering d fact that dis happen on Europe or America. Fine dis guy will serve a jail term and later b used by d authority. As hon tapped from his sharp brain using in d act. Killing is not D best.
    Cheers……

  32. Let’s follow the law so people will seat with the truth,if he has kill before let him all so be killed but if not let him be sentenced to life imprison

  33. Everybody is saying there own opinion based on there mentality, all is right in one way or d other, no one in dis discussion is stupid, but if God were men we would hv kill our self’s & everyone. This is not matter of Muslim, Christian, politician, occultism, robberies etc. I hate killing my fellow human being. Mercy mercy mercy information to all Nigerians, learn mercy, bcos stopping of killing will start 4rm somewhere. 36. 1st of all..d peaple begging shuld imagine they r being kidnapped or ther relatives etc r being kidnapped. They chain people like slaves and feed dem bullshit until d random is paid… Some culd get rapped, injured, killed. Evans de kidnap currupt Nigerians abi? Y evans no leave d people wey him de kidnap for God to George dem na? + if dem forgive him,how other kidnappers go learn lesson so dat dem go fit stop thr bad and terrible work????? 37. Master Jerome J. P.

By giving useless kidnapper Evans second chance it means that the government of lagos state has violent there law themselves so he should face the wrath of the law as sign by governor of the state Akinwumi abode

  38. He is worse than the devil himself and so should be killed.how can you abduct a fellow human being like yourself and lock him up for three months just for ransom..He puts victim families in fear and tears now his family should face the same..nonsense Evans evil doer using the bible to cover up with psalm 23.

  39. He did bad yes, death penalty no, confiscate his wealth probably, he should be kept in prison at kuje not police cell cos he is a big man like our political office robbers, so any person that is saying he deserves otherwise should vanish in Bermuda triangle, the suicide bombers, the notorious herds men what have any governor did or has any signed stupid law to kill them, wake up u all dumbs nigerians n embrace unity & no parciality

  40. God day my fellow brothers and sisters. I am so concerned about this case of Evans and the business he was into. After hearing, watching videos and seeing pictures of the whole story, i thought it wise and good as God’s servant to say this. It is simply my own oppinion. To every situations in life it is always good to know what God says. The way men may judge this case might not be the same way God takes it. If any man amongst those officials have never killed an innocent soul or collected money from people by force, may they touch this man’s hair or take his life. The laws of the government are not the laws of God.
    Thanks..

  41. Evan has just used his talent….well I don’t know what to say…let God will be done

  42. Let the law have its course

  43. If you have never committed any crime or sin then u can kill him. What about the boko hatams that kill with bombs, guns and left somany people homeless, they were arrested and later were forgiven and released. Our God is a merciful God if not we wouldn’t have been in this world.

  44. the body can be killed, wat of the soul? whom re u to condem re u d creator,?

  45. Evans is in the hands of the law, the law is not partial or sentimental, the law does not care if God says forgive, it only act according to principle of equity, it will give you what you give it.
It’s fine for Evans to repent and be forgiven by Nigerians but the law will still bring his consequences upon Evans. Simple.

  46. yes shout up that hole on ur face u call mouth, why should u say that, beside if he been kill, u urslf re u perfect.pls killing him is not d best solution.
