Nigeria’s 17year old Prodigy Kelechi Iheanacho continued his fine form for Manchester City netting his second consecutive goal for the club in their
5-1 rout of AC Milan on Sunday.
Iheanacho was making his second appearance for City, and he laid a good stake on why he should be in the in the squad, making it two goals in two appearances.
Stevan Jovetic gave City the lead in the 12th minute with a low shot that crept in at the near post and three minutes later Gael Clichy picked out Scott Sinclair in the box for him to net the second from close range.
Jesus Navas got the third goal for City before Iheanacho showed great composure when he expertly turned to drill in the fourth goal right from the edge of the box.
Sulley Muntari pulled one back for Milan just before the break, but City were already in the ascendancy.
There was still time for former City striker Mario Balotelli to make a second half appearance, and he had a goal ruled out for offside before Jovetic completed the rout with the fifth goal for his side.
Last week,City coach Manuel Pellegrini paid tributes to Iheanacho, adding that he would love to keep him at the club.
Iheanacho faces a battle to remain at City, with the club fighting to secure a work permit for him as he is still 17 and an immigrant.
